Susan Lubomski

Career Pathways & Workforce Development Program Consultant

As a dynamic educator with 40 years of experience, Susan Lubomski serves as Career Pathways and Workforce Development Program Consultant.

Having served as Superintendent of Torrington Public Schools, Lubomski views the College and Career Accelerator Program (CCA) as a way to bring together K-12, higher education, and local business partners—enabling high school students to participate in dual enrollment courses and work-based learning experiences.

Lubomski began her career as a high school English teacher in Wethersfield and Simsbury. After moving to California and earning her master’s in counseling, she worked as a school counselor at the middle, high, and alternative school levels.

While in San Jose, she later became an administrator serving middle and elementary schools. This was in addition to working as an adjunct professor at San Jose State University.

Upon returning home to Connecticut, she became the principal of Forbes School for Torrington Public Schools and remained in the district for 18 years. During her tenure with Torrington, Lubomski went on to serve as Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent for the district.

Throughout her career, Lubomski has always been a staunch advocate for students, dedicated to making education better. CCA provides job and college opportunities for students while in the supportive environment of their home school setting. This program is a win-win for students and their communities.
